December 15, 2006, Newsletter Issue #18: Public Swimming Pools

Tip of the Week

Since public swimming pools often have a number of children running around, baby fencing is one precaution that health clubs and public pools must take.

Most laws stipulate that public swimming pools, including those at health clubs, have a lifeguard present to watch over swimmers. In other areas, a sign may be posted that says the pool does not employ lifeguards and swimming is at your own risk. In either case, precautions should be taken to ensure the safety of your child and those around you in the pool area.
